DGL Username

In applying for access to the Digital Geography Lab (DGL) Computer
System Mercator, the applicant accepts the following terms and conditions:
- Applicant(s) must be able to provide verification of SSC enrollment or
employment for computer account(s).
- The username is not transferable. Its usage is to be confined to the
person listed in this agreement.
- The applicant accepts and is responsible for any computing activity
carried out under his/her username.
- The following constitute grounds for immediate termination of access
privileges:
- Any usage of computer resources for activities other than those
identified on the agreement
- Any profanity/harassment used on the computer.
- The following constitute grounds for immediate termination of access
privileges as well as appropriate legal action:
- Any attempt to interrupt or damage the operation of the DGL system
through either authorized or unauthorized access.
- Any attempt to access/acquire information stored on the DGL system
other than that declared as public information or a user's own stored information shall
constitute a violation of the laws of the commonwealth regarding privacy of information.
- The copying/removal/destruction of any of the DGL's computer manuals,
software, or hardware.
- Information stored in the computer in connection with the use permitted
by this agreement is not private information. The DGL reserves the right to have access to
such information for any purposes it deems appropriate and the DGL provides no assurance
that the information will be secure against either authorized or unauthorized access by
others.
- The applicant understands that this account is available while enrolled
as a student of Salem State College. Accounts with no activity in 6 months will be removed
from the system. Students' accounts may be disabled or removed from the system if they are
not preregistered for the following semester's classes. It is the responsibility of the
student to see the DGL staff for an extension.
- The applicant accepts and is responsible for adhering to the Salem State
College Acceptable Use Policy
